The Govindaji Deity was originally found by Sri Rupa Goswami. Maharaja Man Singh from Jaipur, built the Govindaji temple in 1590 A.D. The deity was removed from the temple when the Muslims attacked Vrindavan. The deity is residing in a temple right outside the King of Jaipur’s palace. it is considered that worship cannot be done in the temple as it was partially destroyed hence another temple was established behind the original temple where worship is performed to the Deities that were installed after the original Govindaji was removed to Jaipur.
